Awarded US $200K to Conduct First Genomics Study of Prostate Cancers in Jamaican Men

Jamaican men have among the highest incidence of prostate cancer in the world, yet no studies to date have included significant numbers of Jamaican men. JACCRI investigators received a $200K grant from the National Institutes of Health (National Cancer Institute) to conduct the first‐ever study of somatic mutations and genomic alterations in the prostate cancers of Jamaican men. The study is currently in process and results are expected by early 2021.
